If you have followed my previous posts, you might already submitted your blog to Google Webmaster Tools. Now, in this post, I share with you how to submit sitemap to Bing Webmaster Tools.
Most of us will only submit our blog to Google Webmaster Tools, but let us not to neglect other search engines such as Bing. Bing is another good traffic source for our blog as well.So, submitting our blog's sitemap to Bing is good for more traffic.
First and Foremost: Go to Bing Webmaster Tools
First, you need to go to Bing Webmaster Tools and Sign in using your Windows LiveID. The picture above shows the homepage of Bing Webmaster Tools. All you need is to use your hotmail or Windows Live Messnger ID to login. If you do not have one, then you can sign up for an account for free.
Secondly, Add Your Blog to Bing Webmaster Tools
After you have logged in, you will come to a page as shown above. Click on "Add Site" and type in your blog address as shown in the picture above. Then, hit "Submit".
Thirdly, Use Copy and Paste Bing Authentication Codes to Your Blog HTML
After you hit the "Submit" button. You will see the picture as shown above. Now, select the "Option 2", copy and paste the given codes to your blog's HTML codes in the HEAD section of your blog.
Save your blog template and then finally, click "verify".
After verification, you will see something like the picture above. It is the report page that shows information about your blog's sitemap such as the traffic summary and index summary. Once your blog's sitemap are indexed, then you will start seeing data in the report.
That's it. You have submitted your blog sitemap to Bing Webmaster Tool. It is quite simple and straight forward.
